An avid supporter of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club and a former welfare officer of the Black Queens, Madam Mariam Buckman is reported dead.
Madam Mariam Buckman was the President of the UNISON Supporters Group- a group that rallies support for the national football teams, notably the Black Stars and the Black Queens.
She was the welfare officer for the Black Queens from 2002-2003 period and was also the senior sister of Madam Rita Buckman of the Hearts of Oak Women Supporters fame.
According to the family spokesperson, funeral arrangements would be announced later.
She was pronounced dead in Accra after battling a short illness. She died at the age of 68.
