Accra Hearts of Oak coach, Kim Grant has congratulated defender, Mohammed Alhassan for his maiden Black Stars invitation.
Alhassan was named in coach Kwesi Appiah’s 29-provisional list for the AFCON, following his dazzling performance for the Phobians in the NC Special Competition.
He joins Asante Kotoko duo, Felix Annan and Abdul Fatau Shafiu as the only local based players to be handed a slot in the provisional list for the AFCON.
Kim Grant who was excited about the defender’s maiden national team call up, on his Facebook timeline stated that “Congratulation to my central defender Mohammed Alhassan for his first call up to the provisional Ghana national team squad of 29, to participate in the upcoming African Cup of Nations 2019. Well done, keep it up, it’s just the beginning. Phobia!!!!!!.”
Meanwhile, coach Kwesi Appiah and his team will depart Ghana for Dubai on Saturday, June 1 for a PRE-AFCON camping, where they will engage South Africa and Namibia in friendlies before the squad would be prune down to a final 23 for the tournament.
