Black Stars General Captain, Asamoah Gyan is to be enstooled as chief of the Gbui Traditional Council for his contribution to the people of Hohoe, Volta Region.
Asamoah Gyan helped out by solving the decade long problem of water at the Saint Francis Training College in Hohoe.
Gbui Traditional Council before Asamoah Gyan’s intervention has struggled with acquiring regular flow of water and footing huge bills to acquire the necessary commodity, the students of Saint Francis Training College had to battle to get water for their daily activities.
Asamoah Gyan recounted memories his mum shared about the school she attended back then- decided to help by providing the school with water.
There will be a 3 day ceremony in the Volta Region to name the Black Stars striker who was recently elevated to the General Captain position as new Chief in the the area.
Asamoah Gyan is expected to give a speech to the students of Saint Francis College, followed by a series of activities including paying a courtesy call to the chiefs of the Gbui Traditional Council all part of the ceremony.

“Team Asamoah Gyan identified St Francis Training College, a school that needed to solve a decades old water problem.
“As basic as water is “water is life”, we quickly invested good sums to build a new water system to ensure regular flow and save St. Francis Training College thousands of Ghana cedis in water bills perpetually.
“This intervention was made easier by the memories of my mum who was a student in this school.
“The people of Gbui Traditional Council appreciate this and Asamoah Gyan’s outstanding leadership and exemplary contribution to Ghana’s socio-economic development and have decided to honor him by enstooling him as a Chief during a three-day celebration in Hohoe from 29th May, 2019” – Samuel Anim Addo, manager of Asamoah Gyan.
