President Akufo-Addo has lauded Asamoah Gyan and coach Kwesi Appiah for smoking the peace pipe.
It will be recalled that Black Stars leading all-time topscorer Asamoah Gyan and coach Kwesi Appiah were in loggerheads after the national team captaincy armband was stripped off from the Kayserispor attacker.
Gyan announced his sudden retirement from the Black Stars after the armband was stripped off from him but later rescinded his decision following the intervention of President Akufo-Addo.
The two parties on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 held a peaceful deliberations in Accra over the captaincy saga with Asamoah Gyan expressing his delight after the meeting.
After the peaceful deliberations on Tuesday, the President has congratulated the two for smoking the peace pip.
Meanwhile, Asamoah Gyan was included in Ghana’s 29-provisional squad for a PRE-AFCON camping in the United Arab Emirates where the list would be prune down to 23.
The former Sunderland attacker will be making his seventh AFCON appearance should he make the final squad for the main tournament slated for June 2019 in Egypt.
