Yvonne Okoro has earlier promised a 10000 Dollars token should the team get to the semi final stage of the WAFU tournament. She presented the Cheque as promised and urged the public to emulate and support Women football.
“The girls did so well, this is my first time watching them and I think they need a lot of encouragement. Aside the fact that I am doing my own presentation, this is also to tell the public to support because they are winning a lot of medals than the men”.
Deputy Minister recieved and congratulated the team for hoisting the flag of Ghana high in Ivory Coast and announced that there is a package awaiting them.
For me I believe Participating alone is enough to go to the competition the first time, win gold and win bronze the second time meaning our team has wat it takes. The ministry is impressed by your performance in ivory coast over the period. It is a traditional that once our teams go for competition we give them a parting gift and for bringing medals home , the ministry will meet the team again and announce our package.
On behalf of the playing Body, Captain Of the team, Police Corporal, Dumehasi Fafali expressed gratitude to the ministry and Actress Yvonne Okoro.
We are so much grateful to the Ministry and Miss Okoro for this assisting us throughout the WAFU tournament. We were so happy when we saw her there and for fulfilling her promises, on behalf of the team, we appreciate your support and love”.
Black Queens will in the coming days assemble and prepare for the upcoming African games in Morocco.
