Spice FM’s Sports Journalist, Kyei Baffuor has shared his opinion on the recent happenings in Ghana Football; from the Anas Expose to Ghana’s early exit from 2019 African Cup of Nations and why he thinks Kwesi Nyantakyi was treated unfairly.
Sometime ago, Journalists in Ghana led a crusade against the previous football administration all in the name of corruption, moving from one radio station to the other with the perception that Ghana football has collapsed for 13 years.
These Journalists collaborated with Anas Aremeyaw Anas to conduct an investigation about Ghana football called ‘The Game’.
This has been the most useless and unproductive ever undercover investigation video I have watched.
When Number 12 Expose was premiered, we saw the then Ghana football association President Kwesi Nyantakyi picking money into a black polythene bag and 80% of Ghanaians were in jubilant mood with little or no sympathy for this man, they crucified this man without listening to his side of the story.

Kwesi Nyantakyi’s term as the President of the Ghana Football Association came to an end days after the expose was premiered.
FIFA appointed a Liaison Committee to steer the affairs of Ghana Football on the interim before the formation of a Normalization Committee headed by Dr Kofi Amoah

Ever since Dr Kofi Amoah’s administration took over the office of the Ghana football association, our Football has drastically sagged. Various national teams have struggled in this short period of time and there seem to be little or no hope for local players as domestic football is suffering from poor administration.

Our Black Princesses failed to live up to expectation after they were knocked out from the group stages of the 2018 U-20 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France. Black Maidens also performed below average at the world stage.

Ghana hosted the African Women’s Cup of Nations in 2018 and the Black Queens couldn’t qualify from the group stages not to talk entering the medal zone.

Black Satellites failed to qualify to the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland.
Black Starlets failed to qualify to the Africa under 17 tournament.
Black stars failed to qualify to the quarter finals of the Afcon 2019 for the first time 11 years.
Last but not the least, we have witnessed the worst organized football league competition in the country for the past 15years; branding at match venues was poor, publicity was below par. The Normalization Committee is yet to pay the price money of the various winners of the competition they organized; Tier 1, Tier 2 and the Women’s league.
Nothing has been normalized since Dr Kofi Amoah took over and our football seems to be moving backwards.
