Alexis Sanchez has been sentenced to 16 months in prison, but will not serve any time behind bars as it has been suspended.
The Manchester United forward was found guilty of defrauding the Spanish government of £890,000 in image rights, while playing for Barcelona between 2012 and 2013.
An agreement has been reached between Sanchez and the Spanish Government so that he pays the owed money which now comes with an interest. Worryingly, Sanchez admitted that he simulated the sale of his image rights to a foreign company in a bid to avoid paying taxes. Similar sentences were churned out to Jose Mourinho, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo after Spanish Prosecutors found them guilty of same charges.
