Coach Maxwell Konadu’ side were beaten by the Burkinabes by a goal to nil at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi today.

A late minute strike from Stephanne Yannick Pognongo ensured that Burkina Faso return home as 1-0 winners.
The defeat means Ghana could miss the CHAN tournament again after almost two months of preparations.

Ghana will travel to Burkina Faso for the return-leg with the hope of turning the 1-0 deficit before booking a ticket in the next year’s CHAN tournament.
Meanwhile, the Black Stars ‘B’ team will represent Ghana in the upcoming WAFU Championship in Senegal.
