Sekondi-Takoradi based Beach FM 105.5 is back on air after it was shutdown by the National Communication Authority (NCA).

Beach 105.5FM, owned by Focus 1 Media, was shutdown by the National Communication Authority in May 2019 as a result of expired authorization.
After barely five months of shutdown, the English-speaking dial has returned back on air after meeting the necessary obligations.

In the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis, Beach FM, Radio Silver and Melody FM were among the over 20 radio stations shutdown by the National Communication Authority across the country on May 20, 2019.

According to the National Communication Authority, the closure was to ensure an effective management of the national spectrum, in compliance with ruling of Electronic Communication Tribunal.

Beach FM was owned by Gray Express Media before Focus 1 Media took over in 2014.

The station is currently one of the subsidiaries of Focus 1 Media who are the operators of Spice FM, Beachfmonline, Pluzz FM in Accra and Orange FM in Kumasi.
