The Central Region edition of the CalBank sponsored Beach Soccer League competition has successfully come to an end at the Oasis Beach in Cape Coast on Sunday.

The two days competition saw four clubs showcasing brilliant of performance, with the aim of booking a slot in the finals of the main competition.

Four teams namely; Young Sharks, Marine Stars, Sea Rovers and Sea Sailors participated in the competition that saw over hundreds of spectators cheering their various clubs up.
At the end of the competition, Young Sharks emerged as the winners with 8 points plus 8 goals, Marine Stars came second with 5 points minus a goal whiles Sea Rovers accumulated 3 points minus one goal with Sea Sailors failing to pick even a single point but conceded as much as 8 goals.

Sea Rovers sensation Alfred Kitson who was a delight to watch and a prospect for Ghana in the near future, bagged 6 goals to clinch the topscorers award, with Nana Amonoo of Marine Stars placing second with 5 goals. Robert Wrigher of Young Sharks scored 4 with teammate Felix Dadzie also netting 4 times whiles Isaac Cobbinah of Marine Stars also scored 4 with Ezekiel Nii-Armah of Sea Sailors bagging 2 goals and William Buckman also scoring 2.

Francis Johnson of Sea Rovers went home with the best goal award whiles Cezar Coleman of Young Sharks had the best goalkeeper award with Sea Rovers’ Alfred Kitson winning the topscorers award with 6 goals. Ezekiel Nii-Armah of Sea Sailors beat Alfred Kitson to win the best player of the tournament.

In all, 44 goals were scored with the day one producing as much as 30 goals whiles only 14 goals were scored on the final day.

Meanwhile, Young Sharks and Marine Stars have joined Shama and Jomoro from the Western region, waiting for the winners of Greater Accra and the Volta Region for the finals, to determine who win the national CalBank Beach Soccer Championship.
