The President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo has announced the closure of all the country’s borders on Sunday, March 22, 2020.

According to the President, this forms part of the new measures taken to control the outbreak of the deadly disease in the country.
Addressing the nation this evening on updates of the pandemic, President Akufo-Addo stated that persons who will arrive at the borders during the after Sunday, will be quarantined.
He indicated that all borders of the country either sea, land and air will be closed down for the next two weeks.

The President added that the Health Ministry as part of measures to fight the disease is mobilizing retired health professionals to help combat the pandemic.
He concluded that more measures will be put in place to fight the Coronavirus disease in the country.
Already, all social gatherings in the country have been suspended for the next four weeks as part of preventive measures to avoid the spread of the disease.
Since the outbreak of the disease, Ghana has recorded nineteen cases so far with one reported death case.
