The Western Regional deputy director of Health Dr. Atsu Dodor has indicated that the region has not recorded any case of the deadly Coronavirus disease.

According to Dr. Dodor, since the outbreak of the deadly disease in Ghana, the region is yet to record a case but seven persons were quarantined with a suspected case.
He indicated that six out of the seven persons that were quarantined at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital tested negative but waiting for one more result from the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research in Accra.
Dr. Dodor mentioned that the Western Region is better positioned in terms of its preparedness to manage and control the spread of COVID 19.

He disclosed that an average of five front-line health workers from each district have been trained under the Training of Trainers programme to equip our health facilities with the needed skill set to respond to the pandemic.
So far Ghana has recorded twenty-seven cases with two deaths.
