The Upper West region has recorded its first case of the Coronavirus pandemic.

According to the Upper West Regional Minister Hafiz Bin Salih, a 42-year old man who has visited the United Kingdom and Spain but returned to Ghana through Egypt has been confirmed to have been infected with the disease.
He explained during a press conference today that, the patient travelled from Accra to Wa via a public transport before he started showing symptoms.
Mr. Bin Salih stated that the samples of the patient was taken for a research and it was confirmed that he has the disease, and currently in isolation undergoing treatment.

His announcement means the Coronavirus pandemic has been recorded in three regions of Ghana namely: Greater Accra, Ashanti and Upper West regions.
Ghana has so far recorded 136 cases of the Coronavirus pandemic with three deaths as of Friday March 27, 2020.
