President Akufo-Addo has announced that his government has absorbed the water bills of Ghanaians for the month of April, May and June.
In his address to the nation on Sunday, the President indicated that both the Ghana Water Company Limited and the Electricity Company of Ghana have been directed to ensure stable supply of water and electricity in this period.

This according to the President forms part of the measures to combat the Coronavirus disease in the country.
President Akufo-Addo also stated that whether the two-weeks lockdown will be extended will depend on the data that will be sent to the government in the coming weeks.
He noted that 15,385 out of 19,276 contact persons had been reached through the enhanced contact tracing and their samples have been taken.
“[This] will determine our future terms of action,” he stressed.

“Through the course of the coming weeks, the determination will be made as to whether or not to extend the two-week lockdown. I have, however extended the closure of our borders for two more weeks.
“The decision of government on the matter will be driven by science and available data.”
