Angry residents of Prampram in the Greater Accra region have protested over the decision to use the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence as an isolation centre in the Coronavirus fight, according to media reports.
This comes after the Ghana Football Association in a release on Saturday, offered the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence to the government to be used as an isolation centre.

According to the residents of Prampram where the building is located, the decision from the Ghana Football Association is a non-starter and they will make sure that the building won’t be used as an isolation centre to fight the Coronavirus pandemic.
The angry residents stormed the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence on Sunday, according to reports, to channel their displeasure to the Ghana Football Association for offering the edifice as an isolation centre.
Coronavirus cases in Ghana
As of Saturday, April 12, the Ghana Health Service announced that, the country has recorded 408 cases of the pandemic with 8 deaths.
They broke it down that, ten people are in mandatory quarantine in Tamale with all responding well to treatment.

Also, 105 cases have been confirmed in Accra with all also responding to treatments very well.
They explained that, 205 cases have been confirmed in the routine surveillance with 4 people recovered, 191 are responding to treatments whilst 2 are in critical and moderately ill with 8 deaths.
Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo has extended the initial one month ban on public gatherings for further period of two weeks with partial lockdown on some parts of Accra, Kumasi, Obuasi, Tema extended for additional one week.
