Before the Minister of Youth and Sports, Honorable Isaac Asiamah led a team of Member of Parliaments including the regional Minister Honorable Kobby Okyere Darko Mensah visited the Sekondi Sports Stadium for inspection, Hasaacas and Proud United used the venue for their league matches, also Eleven Wise had hosted some games at the venue in 2020.

The announcement of the GHS 17m budgeted renovation works didn’t really factor where these clubs will be playing at since Gyandu Park has been pronounced unfit to host Division One League and FA Cup games with the Gyandu Park as a fall to whenever Sekondi Sports Stadium is not available.
In case football is to return anytime soon, the two most appreciated clubs in the Twin-City and other clubs will have to travel at least some 200KM away from their homes to enjoy football.

Answering some questions from www.kyfilla.com Julius Emunah, the then secretary to the Western Regional Football Association in 2018 who was part of the committee revealed GHS 80K will be enough to mend parts which has caused Gyandu Park to be relegated to the ruins.
“The torn out inner perimeter is very weak currently and needs to be fixed or mended. The general security of the stadium is inadequate. Its vehicular entrance to dressing rooms and the field of play(ambulance entrance). The facility lacks strong barriers between competition areas and VIPs.

“The inner perimeter fence will cost not less than GHS 40,000 the last time we checked in 2018. The construction of the two gates will cost GHS 25,000. Painting of the stadium and re-fixing the gates of the dressing rooms will cost GHS 3,000 and finally rebuilding the barriers between the VIP and the dressing rooms will cost some GHS 20,000.
