Former Hearts of Oak center back Vincent Atinga has deflected earlier reports fueled by former club skipper, Thomas Abbey.
Abbey’s earlier has churned out some reasons which he thought aided to the defeat to their arch-rivals Asante Kotoko.

The former skipper opined that some unpaid salaries and bonuses which led to agitations by the players prior to the game was the main cause for their defeat.
“I can say that before the match, everything favored Hearts. We were supposed to win but there were very serious problems in the team. We had not been paid for three months and winning bonuses from seven matches were also not paid,” he told Angel FM.
“I can tell you that, before the final, we were not even training. We were protesting so we will go to the training grounds and only jog for twenty minutes and go back home.”

Vincent Atinga – who played as a center back for Hearts of Oak has stood up to deny such comments from the skipper, saying Hearts of Oak had cleared all salaries and bonuses prior to that game.
