Leading Ghanaian Hip Hop artist, M.anifest has waged into the discussion about artists and their revenue streams adding that shows alone can’t be the means for musicians to subsist.
The multiple award-winning rapper joined a star–grouped panel; Actress and Entrepreneur Lydia Forson, Nana Ama McBrown and Producer Kaywa on Citi TV’s Point of View hosted by Bernard Avle.
Revered as the best lyricist Ghana has seen, M.anifest opined that Artists should be able to take a year off and reflect on their past works yet get adequate revenues from royalties which should be enough for them to subsist.

M.anifest added that despite the dangers of COVID-19 on his plans, the pandemic has also afforded him the opportunity to do some introspection and come out as a better person.
Referencing Edem’s recent tweets advocating for the entertainment industry to be restructured for the better so that upcoming artists wouldn’t have to go through the peanuts they[musicians] get as royalties, M.anifest said he’s known the system better since moving from USA to Ghana some years back.

“We should have proper structures; artists shouldn’t have to be playing shows only to subsist – an artist should be able to take a year off and reflect on his works – but be able to live on royalties.
“I have seen my brother[Edem] talk about these things – we need a better system, artists can live on shows only, creatives should be rewarded in so many streams. And I’ve learnt how an artist should live with time. I pray those coming don’t go through this same system” – M.anifest
