Former Education Minister, Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang is reportedly leading the list of candidates as potential running mate for National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Mahama.
According to reports circulating in the media, five names popped up at a meeting held by the top party officials and the 68-year old Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang emerged as the favorite.
She is reported to have beaten the likes of Alex Mould, Cadman Mills, Nii Noi Thompson and Kwame Awuah Darko for the position ahead of the upcoming general elections in December 2020.

It is also reported in the media that, former President John Mahama who is poised to stage a comeback will be announcing his running mate in the coming days and Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang is likely to be named for the position.
About Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang
Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang was born on November 22, 1951 in Cape Coast of the Central Region in Ghana.

She is a former Minister for Education in Ghana. She was appointed in 2013 by President John Mahama after the 2012 general elections and served until January 2017 when the Nana Akufo-Addo administration was elected to power. She is a member of the National Democratic Congress.
Professor Opoku-Agyemang is also a former Vice-Chancellor of University of Cape Coast in the Central Region and was the first female Vice-Chancellor of University of Ghana. She assumed duty on October 1, 2008 succeeding Emmanuel Addow-Obeng.
