Former Ashantigold Sporting Club attacker, Shafiu Mumuni has confirmed interest from Asante Kotoko.
Reports were already ripe that the Kumasi-based side long standing interest in the Black Stars B skipper has been renewed following its quest in the upcoming 2020/2021 CAF Champions League.
Asante Kotoko was confirmed as Ghana’s representative for the upcoming CAF Champions League by the Ghana Football Association and is already putting measures in place to secure the signature of Shafiu Mumuni ahead of the campaign.

Mumuni produced a staggering display in 2019, powering in 9 goals in the Normalization Committee’s Special Tournament. He single handedly battered Ivory Coast 3 goals, becoming the first attacker to do so in the history of the WAFU in a 3-1 win for the Black Stars B.
Mumuni featured prominently, producing 4 goals for the Black Stars B as they finished with a silver medal in the WAFU 2019 tournament, a team led by now Asante Kotoko coach, Maxwell Konadu.

In an interview with Wontumi Sports, the attacker revealed he is just some whiskers away from joining Romanian side CFR Cluj, the move which should have been signed long ago was hindered by the corona virus.
He added that Asante Kotoko are also another likely destination.
“I have been in talks with CFR Cluj, I had trained with them and even concluded my medical before the virus emerged.
“My manager has been in touch with Asante Kotoko” – he told Wontumi Sports.
