The Ghana Police Service has announced that, it has retrieved two bodies of their officers who drowned in the Oda River.

Background
As www.kyfilla.com reported on Thursday, July 16, 2020, two policemen were said to have drowned in the Oda River.

Two Lance Corporals with the name Stephen Kyeremeh and Amedius Akwasi Boateng of the Obuasi District Police Commanding drowned in the Oda River while pursuing some gangs of armed robbers.
The two heard of a small scale miners who have been attacked by some gangs of armed robbers and were heading to Krobo, a village near Jacobu in the Amansie Central District in Ashanti Region.

While on their way to the site, they were joined by Sergeant Isaac Nyamekye and colleague James Ahiman.
The four hired a canoe to cross the river to the other side where the robbers have run to.
While they are returning, the canoe capsized but the two Sergeants managed to swim ashore leaving the two Lance Corporals.
