The one week Commemoration of former General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie popularly known as Sir John is currently ongoing at Sakrawono in the Ashanti Region.
Some bigwigs of the NPP are currently present at the ceremony with all safety protocols being observed.

Vice president Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his wife Samira Bawumia alongside John Boadu (NPP General Secretary), Freddy Blay (NPP Chairman) and host of others have been spotted at the ceremony.
Sir John died on July 1 this year at the University of Ghana Medical Centre while receiving treatment for the novel Coronavirus.

Before his demise, Sir John was the CEO of the Forestry Commission.
