Chief of the Kafaba community Seidu Yahaya has been arrested by the Savannah Regional Police Command.
The chief, who presented himself to the police upon invitation, was arrested upon arrival at Damongo.

He is being interrogated by a four-member panel in Damongo.

The chief first reported to the Salaga District Police Command before proceeding to Damongo, where he was subsequently arrested.

Savannah Regional Police Commander DCOP Enoch Bediako said the arrest of the chief will help police in their investigations.
Family of 90-year-old woman Akua Denteh called for the arrest of the chief, accusing him of inviting the spiritualist to perpetrate the crime.

This the chief denied after we visited the community on Saturday, July 25.
The chief is the first to be arrested since the lynching of Akua Denteh on Thursday, July 23.
