News reaching the desk of www.kyfilla.com indicate that a boy believed to be 10-years-old has drowned in an abandoned galamsey pit at Beansre in Obuasi.
It is reported that, the boy fell into the abandoned pit while playing with his friends on Tuesday morning.

There is also a report that, the boy was killed before his body was dumped into the pit full of water.

The body has since been removed from the pit and deposited at a morgue in Obuasi but the family of the deceased are pleading for the body to be buried.
