The President of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs, Nii Okwei Kinka Dawuona VI has said politicians only pay them a visit during campaign season.
According to Nii Okwei Kinka Dawuona VI, politicians get close to chiefs when it is time for election because they will need the influence from the chiefs to win power.

He said this when the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the NDC, Joseph Ade Coker and other party Executives paid the house a visit at Dodowa in Accra.
Ade Coker during the visit, promised that the NDC will bring infrastructural developments to the Greater Accra Region when voted to power in the forthcoming elections.

He also said that, the NDC will complete a dusty feeder road that leads the grounds of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs.
But addressing a gathering, Nii Okwei Kinka Dawuona VI said the most of the politicians are aware of the dusty road since 2012 and therefore Ade Coker should hold on with his promise.

“One thing I want all of us to take out of our minds is that… when it is campaign time or election time, we get near our chiefs, they’re going to help us to win power. And after that chiefs become the punching bags. We are relegated and nobody cares about it.
“I’m happy regional chairman said Oh, look at the road coming here. He has been aware of it since 2012, but because he is not keeping a constant relationship with us, 2020 he comes and says when I come back, I’ll come and do it. This is something that we detest as chiefs,” Nii Okwei Kinka Dowuona VI stated.
