[ads1]Renowned Ghanaian businessman and globalist, Mr. Herbert Mensah has urged youths in Ghana to keep abreast of information to give them a competitive edge on the job market.
Herbert Mensah, who is the current President of Ghana Rugby Football Union was addressing a workshop for the MSc Clinical Leadership and Governance class of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS).[ads2]
Speaking on work ethics, Mr. Herbert Mensah urged the class to focus on the image they seek to develop and endeavor to bring something different on the table.
The former Asante Kotoko Chairman was asked about his past failures where he made references to his days with the Ghana Premier League club. He remarked, “when things don’t go as planned, I look, assess, analyze, reposition, and move on.”

Concluding his address, Mr. Herbert Mensah spoke about the importance of knowing one’s purpose and what one believes they are built for. He advised students to go after positions with the ethos in line with their beliefs.[ads3]
Drawing from his experience, he believes this has been instrumental in his career choices and stated that if he doesn’t agree with the ethos, he does not get involved.
Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, the workshop was virtual with the theme “Time with a Business Leader.” The two-part seminar series was held during the MSc Clinical Leadership and Governance class on July 21st and 25th, 2020 respectively.
Both workshops were under the auspices of Dr. Mrs. Patience Aseweh Abor, a Senior Lecturer at UGBS and the Coordinator for MSc Clinical Leadership and Management Programme.

Herbert Mensah is a Ghanaian businessman, sports administrator, philanthropist, and the current President of the Ghana Rugby Football Union since 2014.
He attended Achimota Secondary School in Ghana before furthering his Studies at Kent College in the United Kingdom.
He is a graduate of the University of Sussex also in the United Kingdom. His area of business is focused around consultancy in the following industries; telecommunications, media, sports, and Agro-based businesses.
As a philanthropist, Herbert Mensah has been championing the May 9th disaster celebration in Ghana Football and has been engaging in other charity activities like supporting the 3rd June flood victims as well as supporting the poor and the needy in society.
In the area of media engagement; Herbert Mensah has a keen interest in the youth of Ghana which led him to establish several media channels notable among them are XFM, XLiveAfrica, XFMonline, and The Kotoko Express.
He was appointed Chairman of Asante Kotoko in 1999 by the then Asantehene; Otumfuo Opoku Ware II. He also established SOS Network, a company with the aim of providing professional management services to football clubs on the African continent.
Mr. Herbert Mensah rendered management Services to both AshantiGold Sporting Club and King Faisal FC after leaving Asante Kotoko in 2003.
From 2004 to date, Mr. Herbert Mensah was appointed the President and Board Chairman of the Ghana Rugby Football Union and led the Union in becoming a full member of World Rugby.
As President of Ghana Rugby Football Union, Herbert Mensah is committed to the development of women in Ghana rugby. Under his leadership, the Union has won several trophies including the Winner of Rugby Africa Regional challenge -West 1. Made Rugby Africa Men’s Seven Log rankings and had a promotion to Rugby Africa 2018 Bronze Cup.
