Mr. Bernard Monarh has lost the bid to retain the seat as the Chairman of the People’s National Convention (PNC) after a National Delegates Conference on Wednesday.
The astute politician has lost the seat to Mr. Dani Baah during the elections which saw delegates from all the sixteen regions participating.

Monarh pulled 1,266 votes but it was not enough as Dani Baah accumulated 1,297 of the total votes cast.
Speaking after the defeat, Mr. Bernard Monarh who is also contesting for the Nadowli Kaleo parliamentary seat wished the new chairman the very best.

“I wish Moses Dani Baah, David Apasera and the rest of the team that is elected the very best in their stewardship. It is my hope that where we failed, they will succeed and where we succeeded, they will magnify. Above all, it is my hope that they will make the PNC a better political party than they have inherited.”

Meanwhile, Mr. David Apasera was voted the party’s flagbearer ahead of the forthcoming general elections after pulling 1,315 votes as against Samson Asaaki Awingobit’s 789 and Samuel Adjei Baah’s 465.
After being declared the flagbearer, Mr. Apasera said, “I will do all that is possible to rejuvenate the PNC. I am calling on all members across the country and even abroad who have the love of the PNC to come on board to rebuild the party. The PNC will definitely rise to the top one day.”
