Richard Amanor is a Ghanaian national volleyball team player, born in Asutsuare in the Greater Accra region of Ghana.
He began his elementary school at the Asutsuare R/C JHS before gaining admission to Osudoku Senior High Technical in 2006 and completed in 2009.
His career in Volleyball started in 2010 when he joined Ashiaman [ a suburb in Accra] based Young Spikers to play in the Gt. Accra Volleyball League.
Richard performance was spectacular in the aforesaid league which ended him at the Ghana National Police service team after passing out in 2012
He was selected to join the national team in 2012 for a tournament in Burkina Faso but was later dropped due to passport issues.
Richard Amanor had his first international trip in 2013 after being selected to join the volleyball national team for a tournament in Benin.He was adjudged the overall best player at the end of the tournament.
He has been with the national volleyball from 2012 till dates and he is still a force to reckon with.
In the area of achievement, Richard has annexed numerous of awards which includes the overall best player in the Greater Accra Volleyball League in 2016 and went ahead to clinched the most valuable player in the southern sector tourney in Koforidua in the same year.
He also has in his archives, the best player award in a tournament the national team participated in Burkina Faso and also the most valuable player in the Club Championship tournament in Ivory Coast in the 2016 and the overall best player award in the 2017 Southern Sector Championship in Takoradi.He has also been crowned the most valuable player award in the Club Championship tournament in Lagos- Nigeria this year.
Aside his awesome abilities on the court, Amanor also led the Eastern regional Volleyball team as Head Coach to win the 2017 silver medal in the Unity games and went ahead to clinched gold for the Dangme West team in the Inter District games in Accra.
Richard Amanor is part of the team who made history in the World Cup qualifiers by putting Ghana 9th on the Africa rankings after the initial 56th position.
