President Akufo-Addo has suspended all his political activities with immediate effect.
This is due to the demise of former president of the republic Jerry John Rawlings.

A statement from the Presidency indicate the decision is in honour of the founder of the NDC who died this morning.
Mr. Rawlings was confirmed dead in the early hours of Thursday, November 12, 2020 after battling a short illness.

His demise comes as a huge blow to the NDC faithfuls and Ghanaians with few weeks to the general elections.
Already, President Akufo-Addo has declared a seven-day state mourning for Rawlings starting from Friday, November 13 to Friday, November 20, 2020.

The flagbearer of the NDC and former president of the republic, John Dramani Mahama has also suspended all his political campaigns due to the demise of his God father.
Mr. Rawlings died at the age of 73..
