[ads1]On a night reserved to recognize and celebrate organizations implementing various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategies that contribute to attaining the Global Sustainable Development (SDG) goals, the GNPC Foundation shrug off competition from other notable Ghanaian and International companies to scoop 12 Awards at the 4th Edition of the Sustainability & Social Investment Awards 2020 held on Friday at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City, Accra; an unprecedented feat in the annals of the SSI Award.
The Foundation, which is the CSR arm of GNPC, has over the last 3 years of its establishment, invested in the development of several communities, educational and health institutions, and individuals through tailored intervention programmes under its 3 modules – Education & Training, Environment & Social Amenities, and Economic Empowerment models.
Executive Director, Dominic Eduah, dedicated the awards to all GNPC staff, partners, stakeholders including beneficiary communities and individuals whose collaborative efforts have ensured that GNPC’s social impact programmes keep yielding the desired impacts. Adding that the collective resilience of Ghanaians is to be credited for the gains made in 2020 despite the challenging year precipitated by the COVID-19 global pandemic.
He assured that the Foundation will continue to design and implement programmes that improve communities and build human capacities.
The Foundation were, on the night, adjudged the best in best company in educational sponsorship project, best company in community development and infrastructure project, best company in project promoting art and culture, best company in livelihood empowerment project, best company in providing health facilities, best company in project providing educational facilities. best company in Covid-19 institutional support project, best company in project promoting and supporting stem education, best company in quality healthcare delivery, best company in economic empowerment and SSI project of the year (Education).
Earlier in October this year, the Foundation was also named winners of the “2020 Excellence in CSR of the Year” Award at the Ghana Business Award.
