Connect FM, the subsidiary of Ghanaian leading media firm Media General (Operators of TV3, Onua TV, 3FM, Onua FM, Connect FM, Akoma FM) won big at the 2020 edition of the Western Region Radio and Television Personality Awards.
The station scooped four awards at this year’s edition of the Western Region Radio and Television Personality held on last Saturday at the Takoradi Mall.[ads2]
The Western Region Radio and Television Personality Awards which is organized by Ex-One Entertainment seeks to honour hardworking media personalities in the Western Region from the area of sports, entertainment, disc jockeying and host of others.
Celebrated broadcaster, Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson who joined Connect FM in 2018 was honored at the awards night for his massive contributions to the media industry in the region whiles Nana Yaw Gyebi, the host of the station’s midmorning programme dubbed Adwumapa Mber went home with the radio personality award.[ads3]
Connect FM flagship morning show programme “Omanbapa” was crowned the best radio show of the year whiles its producer Monica Odonkor was named the best producer of the year.
The awards come as a huge boost to the station who have gained huge listenership since their existence in 2016.[ads4]
Reacting to the four awards, the Station’s Manager, Ransford Asare said, “Super proud to lead a team that is always winning. Nana Yaw Gyebi, Radio personality of the year. Monica Odonkor came, best producer of the year. Paa Kwesi honored for his contribution to Media in the Region and Omanbapa best Radio Program of the year. God dey we dey.
