A group called the Concern New Patriotic Party (NPP) Members in Ayigya in Oforikrom in the Ashanti Region want vice president Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to lead the party in the 2024 elections.
According to the group, Dr. Bawumia is the perfect candidate to lead the NPP in the 2024 elections when President Akufo-Addo tenure is over.[ads2]
The group believe Dr. Bawumia has extremely supported the party in the last four elections and was the reason why the NPP accumulated more votes in the four northern regions in the just ended 2020 polls.
Though many are rooting for Allan Kyeremanteng to lead the party in the 2024 polls considering his longevity and loyal to the party, the group believe Dr. Bawumia is the perfect personality to continue the baton from President Akufo-Addo whose term comes to an end in 2024.[ads3]
Speaking at a presser, the Chairman of the group Mr. Samuel Danquah otherwise known as Hon. SS Danquah warned the party executives not to sidelined Dr. Bawumia in the 2024 polls else the party will lose the presidential seat to the NDC.
He also urged the party executives to dissolve the fraction in the party, stating that the “Allan camp” and “Akufo-Addo camp” should be dissolved as soon as possible to ensure victory for the party in the next general elections.[ads4]
Hon. SS Danquah also implored the party executives to descend down and settle all disputes in the party that led to losing most of their parliamentary seats to the NDC in the just ended elections.[ads5]
