Ghana media conglomerate, Media General have reacted to backlashes concerning their coverage of the 2020 general elections.
The media hub has come under huge criticisms after projecting that the leading opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC) has won the majority of the parliamentary seats.[ads2]
But the Electoral Commission of Ghana announced that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has rather won the majority of the parliamentary seats, squashing the media General projections.
But Media General who are the operators of TV3, Onua TV, 3FM, Onua FM, Connect FM (Takoradi) and Akoma FM (Kumasi) have responded to the criticisms, stating that their election coverage was not intended to favor any political party.[ads3]
A statement from the Ghanaian media hub states that the projection was made based on the information they received at the particular time.
The Media house also in their statement has stated that the projection was not a definite results of the 2020 December polls.[ads4]
