The Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) has affirmed that President Akufo-Addo remains the winner of the just ended 2020 polls.
According to a statement from the Electoral Commission signed by its chairperson Jean Mensa, President Akufo-Addo accumulated more than fifty percent of the total votes and therefore makws him the president-elect.[ads2]
President Akufo-Addo pulled 6,730,587 votes representing 51.3% as against his competitor and flagbearer of the NDC John Dramani Mahama’s 6,213,182 votes
Since the declaration of President Akufo-Addo as the winner of the elections by the Electoral Commission, the NDC have rejected yue results, threatening to use every legitimate means to challenge the results.[ads3]
But in a statement, the Electoral Commission has stated that President Akufo-Addo who was the flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) remains the president-elect.[ads4]
