Seasoned Journalist, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has said John Dramani Mahama wonts be given any medal for closing about 500,000 gap in the just ended December polls.
Mr. Mahama who was the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) lost the contest to sitting President Nana Akufo-Addo.[ads2]
President Akufo-Addo pulled 6,730,587 votes representing 51.3% as against his competitor and flagbearer of the NDC John Dramani Mahama’s 6,213,182 votes.
But since the declaration of the President Akufo-Addo as the winner of the elections, John Dramani Mahama and the NDC have rejected the results, threatening to challenge the decision from the Electoral Commission.[ads3]
Though John Dramani Mahama closed about 500,000 gap in this year’s elections, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has said the former president won’t get any medal for closing such a gap and should accept that President Akufo-Addo has won the elections.[ads4]
“So, I’m surprised somebody wants to suggest that the 500,000 plus means he has done well. You lost, you lost. They won’t give you a silver medal. We don’t have bronze, silver; what we have here is a gold medal. Finished!”, he stated on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo”.[ads5]
