The Minority member of Parliament clashed with the Police at the Electoral Commission headquarters on Tuesday afternoon.
The legislators were on their way to petition the Electoral Commission chairperson Jean Mensa on the results of the just ended polls.[ads2]
The MPs who are mainly from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) matched from Parliament through to the Electoral Commission headquarters to present their petition.
They were led by the Minority leader, Haruna Iddrisu alongside the chief Whip, Muntaka Mubarak, the legislators were prevented from going beyond a barricade around the Ridge Roundabout in Accra.[ads3]
The MPs defied the orders of the police who said they were not aware of any walk by the Minority to the EC offices.
The scene was chaotic as the police were refused to allow the MPs entry to the Electoral Commission headquarters.[ads4]
Some of the MPs who undertook the walk include A.B.A Fuseini, Mahama Ayariga, Mutawakilu Adam and Laadi Ayii Ayamba, who was pushed to the ground at some point during the march.
