The Ghana Police Service has announced the security arrangements for the swearing-in of President Akufo-Addo on January 7, 2021.
President Akufo-Addo and the newly elected members of Parliament would be sworn in as president-elect for the second term after emerging victorious in the just ended 2020 December polls.[ads2]
To ensure a successful swearing-in exercise, the Ghana Police Service has made known the various security arrangements for the event on January 7, 2020.
According to a statement from the headquarters of the Ghana Police Service, about 6,000 security personnel would be deployed to the inaugural ceremony.[ads3]
These 6,000 security personnel would be deployed from the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Armed Forces and the allied agencies to ensure the protection of lives and properties as well as the general maintenance of law and order.
Also, the police has assured a conducive security environment for all the dignitaries who would be attending the inaugural ceremony.[ads4[
