President Akufo-Addo on Tuesday, January 5, 2020 launched the business forum on the start of AfCFTA Trading in Ghana.
The event was held in Accra with top government officials as well as representatives from AfCFTA in attendance.[ads2]
Speaking at the event, the Minister for Trade and Industry, Alan Kyeremanten revealed that the government of Ghana has designated the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority as the competent authority for issuance of rules and origin certificate under the AfCFTA.
Mr. Kyeremanten also outlined the various structures and mechanisms put in place for the operationalization of the AfCFTA in Ghana.[ads3]
The forum was organized by the Ministry of Trade and Industry in collaboration with the Ghana Revenue Authority.
In attendance were His Excellency Wamkele Mene, Secretary General of AfCFTA Secretariat, Senior Government Officials and Captains of Industry including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Senior Minister, the deputy Trade Minister, Ghana Revenue Authority Commissioner General and Governor of Bank of Ghana.[ads4]
