On Friday, January 15, 2020, the Executive Director of the GNPC Foundation, Dr. Dominic Eduah, led a team comprising staff, Project Consultant and Contractor for the final inspection of works on the ultramodern astroturf facility constructed by GNPC for the people of Adiembra in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis.
The facility is 98% complete according to Mr. Gershon Sogbey, Project Contractor and Managing Director of W360 Construction Ltd. He said his outfit will, in the coming week, complete outstanding works on the external drainage system before it is finally handed over.
Dr. Eduah expressed his satisfaction for the work done so far and lauded the contractor for engaging the youth of the area as workforce in the execution of the project.
“The sport (football) is at the heart of this country and we are blessed with so much for talent. It is only in order that we shore up the development of needed infrastructure that supports the honing of skills amongst the youth; increasing their employability as footballers, sports men and women,” he said.
The new turf is expected to be handed over in a couple of weeks and after which the facility would be fully commissioned for use by the community.
