President Akufo-Addo has said his government is determined to protect students from the devastating coronavirus whilst in school.
Speaking at year’s edition of the Annual New Year School at the Great Hall of the University of Ghana in Accra, President Akufo-Addo stated that his government has put measures in place to protect students across the country from the deadly disease..[ads2]
“Today, all students in the country’s educational structure are back in school with some doing so after a 10-month break. Government is determined to ensure their safety while in school,” he said…
There has been a mixed reaction from parents since President Akufo-Addo announced that students from kindergarten through to the University can now return to school despite the country recording new variants of Coronavirus.[ads3]
Amongst was the member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Hon Sam George, who made it clear that, he won’t allow his children to go to school sooner or later upon a consultation from some medical professionals, stating that it would be better for his kids to miss grade than grave.[ads4]
“After a deep reflection and consultation with Senior Medical professionals, my wife and I have decided that our children would not be going to school on Monday or anytime soon. As said earlier, better a missed grade than a grave”, he posted on Facebook..
Meanwhile, schools in Ghana have been closed since March 15, 2020 when Ghana started recording cases of the pandemic..[ads5]
