President Akufo-Addo will be naming an indigene from the Western Region as deputy Energy Minster.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin dated January 21, 2021.[ads2]
According to the statement, a new Energy Minster would be appointed for the second term of President Akufo-Addo with some ministers as deputies of which one will be from the Western Region.
“A new Energy Minister is to be appointed, who will be assisted by a deputy ministers, one of whom will be indigene from Western Region”, part of the statement reads.
Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo has submitted a list of proposed ministers and Regional Ministers for his second term to the speaker of Parliament on Thursday, January 21, 2021 for prior approval for appointment.[ads3]
President Akufo-Addo has realigned seven Ministries for his second term as the leader of the country.
The Ministries include; Aviation, Business Development, Inner City and Zongo Development, Monitoring and Evaluation, Planning, Regional Re-Organization and Development and Special Development Initiatives.[ads4]
According to a statement from the Communication Directorate at the Presidency, these Ministries have achieved the purposes for which they were established hence the realignment.
