The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi has urged people to stop blaming him for the bad roads in the region.
According to him, most roads in the region have not been completed because the government has not released funds for the various projects in the region.[ads4]
Speaking on Kumasi-based Akoma FM, Chairman Wontumi said that, “The work I funded, the government hasn’t paid us yet because there is no money. If the government pays me for the work I have done, then I will also pay my debtors and return to site”, he said..[ads2]
“I am not the one to release funds for the construction. The Finance Minister is responsible for releasing the funds so I will not take the blame. The government is has just appointed his Ministers for vetting, let’s pray they do things in hurry and the Finance Minister will give me money to complete the work for you”, he added..
