The Management of the Takoradi Technical University (TTU) have temporarily ban religious and large social gatherings on campus with immediate effect.
According to a statement from the University, the decision has been taken following the upsurge of the devastating coronavirus in the Western Region and Ghana at large.[ads2]
Ghana’s Covid-19 cases keep increasing as the total number of confirmed cases has now reached 65,427 after new cases of 797 was recorded.
The country’s current active case is now at 4,665 with 405 deaths and 60,357 recoveries.[ads3]
Due to the upsurge in the active cases, the management of Takoradi Technical University have urged lecturers to use other alternative and appropriate technologies approved by the University to engage students.
Organizers of the various religious and social gatherings have also directed by the authorities of the University to resort to use zoom and other online applications for their meetings.[ads4]
The statement from the University further states that its Covid-19 Taskforce Team have been directed to ensure the adherence of the new directives.
