President Akufo-Addo has appointed an eleven-member Council of State for his second term in office as the leader of the country.
This was in pursuant to Article 89(2) with Juabenhene, Nana Otuo Siriboe II, Justice Ofei Akrofi, Alhaji Aminu Amadu, Mrs. Georgina Kusi and others included.[ads2]
According to a statement from the Communication Directorate at the Presidency, the composition of the council of state will be completed with the election, due to be held on February 12, 2021 of the regional representatives in accordance with Article 89(2)(c).[ads3]
Also, President Akufo-Addo, subject to consultation with Parliament, has also appointed in accordance with Article (89)(2)(a)(I)(ii) Georgina Theodora Wood, a former Chief Justice, Gen. J.B Danquah, a former Chief of Defence Staff and Nana Owusu Nsiah, a former Inspector General of Police to the council.[ads4]
