Popular broadcaster, Captain Smart known in private life as Godsbrain Smart has said he will still survive should the management of Angel FM sack him.
Smart is currently on suspension from Angel FM following an order from the owner of the station Dr. Kwaku Oteng for constantly attacking government officials on air.[ads2]
His suspension was made known to the public by the General Manager of Angel FM in Accra Kwadwo Dickson during a show on Thursday.
He said; “Its true that Captain Smart has been suspended by the owner of Angel Broadcasting Network for speaking against government officials such as President Akufo-Addo, Vice-President Dr. Bawumia, Allan Kyeremateng and the IGP.”[ads3]
“He (the CEO) advised him on several occasions but (Smart) refused to pay heed to the advice hence his suspension.”
But speaking for the very first time after his suspension, Captain Smart in an interview with Paul Adom Otchere on Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana show on Thursday said, “If Kweku Oteng says he cannot work with me again, Praise God, I will leave and will never get hungry because I’m not a lazy person, Yes my brain works. So I called Doc and he said people in government are calling him and the government is using the Ghana Revenue Authority because they say I talk too much”[ads4]
“I asked why and he said he was told that I said that Nana Addo and Dr Bawumia, Alan Kyeremanteng and the IGP are fools. I then asked whether I said it on air and he said yes on air then I told him that I can say whatever but to insult the elderly is not part of my training,” he claimed.
