Wholly owned Ghanaian airline Goldstar Air in collaboration with Network for Assin Development donated building materials comprising blocks and cement to Assin Brofoyedur M/A Basic School in the Assin Central Municipality in the Central region.
The donation forms part of the airline’s corporate social responsibility and the NGO’s support of helping the school to rehabilitate the JHS Block which collapsed some time ago as a result of a heavy downpour.[ads1]
The items were presented on behalf of both companies by the President for Network Development, Mr. Samuel Adobah and were received by the Headmaster of the School, Mr. Frank Preprah and thank the organization for coming to their aid.
The Assembly Member for Nyankomase/ Brofoyedur, Hon Bismark Obeng Donkoh graced the occasion on behalf of the chiefs and elders and also thanked Goldstar Air and the Network for Assin Development for their support.
The President of Network for Assin Development Mr. Samuel Adobah noted that government alone cannot shoulder all the responsibilities facing the country; hence there is a need to join hands in helping to alleviate the burden, hence the collaboration.
Mr. Adobah expressed worry about the manner in which the school children in rural areas are being deprived of quality education.
“But at the end, they all sit in one examination hall to write the same examination with their colleagues in the urban areas”
“This made it difficult for rural students to compete with those in the cities due to
their poor academic foundations. Children must not be denied of quality education if truly we want to create a better society for them,” he expressed worry.”[ads4]
Samuel Adobah also entreated parents and guidance to endeavor to take full responsibility for the needs of their wards since they are future leaders. He admonished the students not to engage in immoral acts and rather focus on their education.
Mr. Adobah also seized the opportunity to express his profound gratitude to the
Executive Chairman of Goldstar Air Mr. Eric Bannerman for his unflinching support.
The Project Coordinator Rev. Stephen Arthur hinted that the aim and objectives of the Network are to push for development projects in the Municipality and in the country as well.[ads1]
He, therefore, seized the opportunity to appeal to Organizations to come to their aid to help them rehabilitate their KG block which is in a deplorable state.
As a Ghanaian registered airline, Goldstar Air plans to utilize the country’s status as the Gateway to West Africa to develop the West Africa market and adopt the right systems that could drive trade and tour operations beyond the West Africa market.
