The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), has handed over new 6-unit classroom block each to Damango Presby Basic School and Larabanga LA Primary in the Savannah Region of Ghana.
The facilities are a part of GNPC Foundation’s School Infrastructure project aimed at improving teaching and learning at various deprived government basic and Senior High schools across the country.
The classroom blocks are furnished with 240 mono-desks, white boards, office chairs and tables to enhance the academic experience by both students and staff.
Speaking at a short ceremony, Savannah Regional Minister, Hon. Mauze Jitorial, thanked GNPC for the gesture and expressed Government’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure as well as forming partnerships with corporate Ghana and other benevolent organizations for the development of the region.
The Minister added that as one of the host regions for GNPC’s Voltaian Basin Project, the Savannah enclave is positioned as a long-standing partner of GNPC and will therefore work to enhance this mutually beneficial relationship.
Executive Director of the GNPC Foundation, Dr. Dominic Eduah, expressed his joy at the opportunity to finally hand over the keys to the classrooms as it marks progress in the educational experience of pupils and teachers in Damango, Larabanga and beyond.
Assuring all of GNPC’s commitment to development across the country, he reminded them of the importance of cultivating and instilling in children the culture of maintenance as a basic strategy of building wealth.[ads4]
