The Police in the Ashanti Region have arrested a man claiming to be an officer with fake police uniform.
Identified as Richard Nyantakyi, the 44-year old was arrested for posing as a police officer at the Asuofua Lorry Station, directing traffic in the Ashanti Region.[ads2]
The Asokwa District Police Commander, Christian Owusu Mpinim stated that he spotted Nyantakyi while driving on the Abrepo road.
He said Nyantakyi was wearing a dress that looks like a police uniform welding a pump action gun directing traffic at Asuofua lorry station.[ads3]
Nyantakyi was confronted but claimed to be a policeman stationed at Suame but couldn’t provide his service number when asked.
He is currently in police custody assisting investigations.[ads5]
