Telecommunication giant, MTN has objected to help the growth of Small and Medium Enterprises with affordable connectivity.
According to the leading network providers, this forms part of their amazing packages to businesse in the country in 2022.
Though the company has launched various campaigns to accelerate the growth of small businesses, it has endeavour to offer incredible packages to businesses next year.
Speaking at a media forum for Southern West Business District at the Atlantic Hotel in Takoradi on Monday, September 13, 2021- the Corporate Service Executive for MTN Ghana, Sam Koranteng explained that the affordable connectivity is to create more awareness on how small businesses can use the power of technology to enhance the management of their business and to grow their business’ competitiveness in the context of a regional and global marketplace.[ads2]
As part of their focus for 2022, he noted that the company has targeted to be the digital enabler of small and medium enterprises in Ghana by enabling these businesses on the digital journey and to provide them digital communication solutions as well as provide apps and platforms for productivity.
Considered as one of the one-stop solution providers, Mr. Koranteng said MTN has stipulated to partner SMEs Support Organization and leverage solutions and channel platforms for businesses.
Aside accelerating the growth of businesses, he added that the company has vowed to deepen its strategic partnership with the government.
He disclosed that MTN has earmarked the project in its projections for 2022 as a way of recognising the relevance of Ghanaians to the growth of the company.[ads1]
MTN, since its inception in the West African country some twenty-five years ago, as part of its corporate social responsibilities, has partnered the government to undertake series of developmental projects nationwide to make better the living conditions in the country for Ghanaians.
The Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mr. Selorm Adadevoh, recently said that his outfit are committed to investing in infrastructure development to help improve network and IT systems nationwide.
He revealed that his outfit has injected a whopping $200,000,000.00 in infrastructure as a way of boosting service delivery especially at remotest communities to increase the capacity and experience for customers in Ghana.
Mr. Adedevoh continued that, last year alone, MTN Ghana paid a whopping Gh¢2.6 billion as taxes to the Ghanaian government to help enable the day-to-day administration of the country.
The company, recently, supported the Ministry of Communication and Digitalization with Gh¢10m for its flagship programme dubbed ‘Girls-In-Ict’ – an initiative to encourage and empower girls and young women to consider studies and careers in the growing of ICTs.
The Minister of Communication and Digitalization, Ursula Owusu Ekuful recounted her conviction to scale up the Girls in ICT initiative but for financing barriers, such remains a dream and however thanked MTN Ghana for favorably considering the ministry’s request and pledged to utilise the support for which it was given.[ads4]
The programme has already started with the Oti Region having their fare share where about 570 girls from different basic school participated in the. That of Western North Region is currently underway with about 1,000 girls learning programming among other requisite education in the ICT field.
Despite supporting the programme with GH¢10m, the management of MTN Ghana in the Western Region North visited the various boot camps in the region where the programme is taking place in fivve districts in the region namely; Boadi, Suaman, Akontombra, Aowin and Prestea Huni-Valley.
Aside supporting the Girls-In-ICT initiative, MTN Ghana has tasked itself to build ICT Hub nationwide and has partnered the government to engage in projects like the Accra Innovation City Project and Ghana CARES Framework Support and not withstanding has planned to support the government to engage in more of the strategic projects in 2022.
