The Founder of the Ghana Union Movement, Christian Kwabena Andrews otherwise known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom has said Reverend Owusu Bempah should be jailed.
The head pastor of the Glorious Word Power Ministries, Rev. Owusu Bempah was arrested alongside three others for assaulting police officers.[ads2]
Making his first appearance before an Accra Circuit Court on Monday, the popular pastor was charged with offensive conduct conducive to the breach of peace and threat of death.
The three others are Michael Boateng, Frederick Ohene, and Nathaniel Agyekum.[ads3]
The four were arrested for the “creation and circulation of multiple videos containing threats, and the brandishing of a weapon and the assault of some police personnel”.
According to a statement issued by the police on Sunday, September 12, 2021, and signed by its acting Director of Public Affairs, ACOP Kwesi Ofori, Reverend Owusu Bempah and the three other suspects were arrested “after critically analyzing the said videos and based on intelligence gathered”.

And Osofo Kyiri Abosom who is also the founder of the Life Assembly Worship Center has said he will rejoice when Reverend Owusu Bempah is put to jail.[ads4]
“I pleaded for him to be granted a bail because of the fact that he is a popular man of God but I regret doing that after watching videos of him asserting how he pays money to the security and other high ranking government officials for his parochial interest”, he told Onua TV.
“Owusu Bempah is not a true man of God and his behavior confirms every allegation put across against him, he reiterated.
Meanwhile, Reverend Owusu Bempah and the other three suspects were were denied bail by court on September 13, 2021 and have been put on remand for a period of seven days.[ads5]
